My friends and I have been fishing with Capt. Bruce Andersen, aka Capt. Easy, for many years now, typically taking two trips a year, one each on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. We have been coming to the Keys on those weekends for about 20 years now and had bounced around a while fishing on other boats. However, based on a recommendation from another guide who is a good friend, we chartered a trip with Capt. Easy and have never looked back. Once you fish with him, you’ll realize there is no reason to go elsewhere.

First, Capt. Easy is friendly, prompt, and a pleasure to fish with. I know too many of us have fished with that Captain that shows up hung over or late, doesn’t want to be there, and is just pissed off at the world. Capt. Easy is just the opposite. He’s professional, genuinely appreciates our business, runs a very tight ship, and treats return customers as friends. Most important, even when you do something not quite right, he doesn’t yell at your or get upset. He truly is the embodiment of the name Capt. Easy, as in easy going.

Obviously, equally important to having a safe and good time is catching fish. Capt. Easy has no rivals in my book when it comes to that. He knows how to catch the fish, has the right gear, and knows how to use it! We have never been disappointed in all of our years with Capt. Easy. He will discuss with you what your target species are and work tirelessly to ensure you catch them. If perhaps your target species haven’t been biting well, he will always have a backup plan and suggest alternatives. He is absolutely the hardest working Captain I’ve ever fished with and does everything in his power to ensure you come home with a nice catch.

Captain Bruce and his 1st mate, Ian are outstanding. From the start of our booking, leading right up to our fishing trip, the captain communicated clearly and in a timely manner. When we arrived at the dock early in the morning, the boat was all set and ready to go. What a beautiful way to watch the sunrise. Captain Bruce was very well prepared with nets to catch bait and a variety of fishing poles, tackle, etc. He took us to some hot spots where we caught tuna and dolphin (mahi). He was informative, patient and FUN. When one of our guests got a little seasick, the captain brought us closer to shore, in calmer waters, where we were still able to fish for snapper. We caught 17 fish that morning and we were prepared to clean and fillet our catch. That’s when Captain Bruce jumped in and handled it like a pro. He sent us on our way with fresh fish fillets and a lifetime of memories. We HIGHLY recommend a fishing adventure with Captain Bruce and we look forward to our next excursion with him.

Capt Easy and his son Eon were great to fish with. Unlike many other boats, I was able to actually fish. Setting lines, casting baits and hooking up with fish. They never stopped looking. Capt Easy was the real deal.
They also stayed aware of my wife’s needs all day.

I have been fishing Islamorada for 25 years and they were one of the best. This trip is highly recommended. I only gave 5 stars because 6 wasn’t an option.

I can’t say enough about my experience aboard the Captain Easy with Captain Bruce Anderson. The charter was easy to set up (half , three quarter, and full day), and the new boat is well equipped and spotless. Captain Bruce works very hard to put his customers on the target specie. We had great success with black fin tuna in the morning and while moving to set up for sails, we did some high speed trolling for wahoo. If you want to be more “hands on” and not just have a first mate hand you a pole, this is the charter for you. It’s like fishing with a good friend.

I grew up in Florida and live in Southwest Florida so we travel to the Keys a couple of times a year, at least, and have been doing so religiously for over 20 years. I have fished with Capt Easy (Bruce) at least a dozen plus times. He is my go-to in Islamorada. He is easy to get along with, is family friendly, and fishes harder than any Captain I know. The best guides make it look easy, but when its not, there is no quit in his game and he fishes like dinner depends on it.
