Had a great time with Captain Dylan. He had a lot of patience with my son who can be a handful sometimes. It was a windy day, but we caught a lot of fish in spite of the tough conditions. Many species of snapper, a few grouper, and even a green moray eel which was fun and exciting to see. Thank you for the recommendation to Lorelei’s. They prepared the fish for us and it didn’t break the bank. Hope to come back and fish with him again.

This trip far exeeded my expectations. Captain Dylan took us out about 5 minutes from the dock. Chummed the water and had us on a 100 pound tarpon in 5 minutes. Unfortunately it spit the hook. Then 10 minutes later we hooked a 125 pound 6 foot monster that my dad fought for 1.5 hours. Captain Dylan did some amazing boat maneuvers to keep the giant tarpon off the shoreline and from running to the boat docks. We ended up hooking three sharks after the giant tarpon which unfortunately chewed threw the line. This was a fishing trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend Blackwater Charters!

What more could you ask for than a 4th generation Isla Morada native as a guide. Decided to stay in close since the wind was blowing and it was a cold day for Keys standards. Went for species count over size and had a ball!  I think we counted 15 different by the end of the trip including one good size Lady fish that put on a good show. Eric was a fountain of knowledge as well as shared alot of History about the life in the Mid Keys. He also has a son that runs a second boat that I met breifly and with his Dad’s knowledge and his pesonality it makes a great father and son team.
