I don’t have a complaint about the boat, equipment or captain. Weather was rough, not the guide’s fault. Had discussed with the captain prior to the day of the trip which species we were wanting looking to catch. The night before I was informed I would be on a different boat with a different captain. No issue with the change, but the new captain said we were gonna “try” to catch some snapper. 30-45 minutes spent catching bait, then an hour ride. 2 hrs of fishing. 1.5 hrs back resulted in 4 keepers. My group weren’t well seasoned offshore anglers but the captain was helpful. We never tried for anything other than snapper unless it happened to be down there, which isn’t the trip we were looking for. I can catch snapper all day long with a party boat for way less. Maybe the problem was we didn’t book a longer trip, not sure if an extra 30 min ride would have mattered honestly. I don’t think I’d use them again just for snapper. $1,200 after fees and tip is a little high for 4 snapper.
