Background: I have been fishing since I can remember and have owned a boat since I was 15. The majority of my early fishing years were spent fly fishing in small mountain creeks for native brook Trout. Later I became interested in tournament Bass fishing and played with this game for about 10 years. Then I got the bug for freshwater Striped Bass fishing. Moving to Southwest Virginia on Smith Mountain lake, I was catching Stripers consistently and had the seasonal patterns figured out. Now I am living on the West coast of Florida and fishing the salt water patterns. Most of my fishing now is in shore and with light tackle. Targeting species such as Trout, Snook, Snapper, Tarpon, Sheepshead, and Redfish.
Techniques: Fishing mostly with a combination of live and artificial baits on the inshore structure in the Tampa Bay area.

Got this 1/2 day trip as a birthday present for my daughter and her boyfriend. They both had HUGE smiles on their faces as the boat was docking after 4 hours on the water with Capt. Brian! They caught Snapper and Flounder and said it was one of the best days ever!! Capt. Brian was so friendly and professional, even filleted the fish for them at the dock. I just cooked an amazing dinner for 8 of us….and we all had our fill of fish. Thank you SO much!!!!

A perfect fall morning fishing trip. Captian Brian was prompt, courteous, friendly and got me on fish right away. It got windy and choppy later in the morning but Brian knew where to go to get out of the chop. Great day of in shore/ bay fishing. I will go again.

We had a super time with Caption Brian , he was top notch. I have been on several charters all over the east coast this was one of our favorites. He worked hard keeping us on the bite he had the fish patterns down knew how to approach them with great presentation. I highly recommend fishing with him if your in the area and want to have a great time definitely consider Gulf coasting charters and Caption Brian Gearheart.

Fished an afternoon with my brother-in-law. We fished grass beds, mangrove shoreline, and various bridge/shore structures with live bait & light tackle. Brian did a great job of keeping things moving and dealing with strong winds. We caught snook, mangrove snapper, sheepshead, and almost landed a large redfish at the end. Brian is a capable fisherman and a great guide, I’d highly recommend him.
