Background
Bass fishing has always been a passion for me ever since I caught my first one (3.5lbs.) with my Dad. He would take me bream fishing as far back as I can remember. When I got a little older he would bring along a baitcaster reel and would fish for bass while I was using a pole and crickets. Being young, I was interested in what he was doing and wanted to use his reels. He would tell me no, that I didn't know how to cast it. He started teaching me how to get backlashes out of his reels when he would get a birds nest. With each fishing trip I would continue to bug him to teach me to throw a baitcaster. Finally, one day he handed me his reel and started to teach me how to cast it. My first cast was going to be longer than anything I've ever seen him make. So I rared back and chunked it as far as I could. Needless to say, I got a backlash. My Dad looked at me and said "Now get it out" as he continued to fish.

Barron is definitely a hard core Bass fishermen that I really enjoyed fishing with today. I went out on this guided trip wanting to learn and expand my knowledge of fishing for largemouth Bass. I was able to learn a lot from Barron as well as land the biggest largemouth I have ever cought. Great day really down to earth and professional guide.

The trip was wonderful.  Everything was on-time and professional. Barron Cox knew all the in’s and outs of the lake and took us to his top secret fishing spots to ensure that we would have a catch!  He is also very knowledgeable about the fish we were trying to catch and what the best bait was to use.  Drinks and snacks were also on board, Water and Soda.  I would deftitnely recommend a trip with Barron Cox.  We are already planning our next trip with him!

Despite the heavy rain, Barron worked hard to put us on fish. It was obvious that he had pre- planned our trip. We were at stop number 4/5 when we got tired of getting wet. I would recommend Barron anytime for Lake Talquin Bass fishing.

Captain Barron Cox definitely knows the water and how to manipulate fishing techniques with the changes in temperature, clouds and wind. Highly recommend him if you are looking for a really quality experience.
