Fishing Reports

February Charter fishing report
February Charter fishing report
Feb 4, 2022 Folly Beach
Folly Beach fishing charters on Nearshore and Deep Sea fishing trips have been producing good size and numbers of Black Drum, Sheepshead, Redfish, Black Sea Bass and several other species. These fish are aggressively attacking a variety of cut and live baits. We have also found a tendency to score larger fish on big artificial lures such as Bucktail jigs and 5 inch swim baits by jigging around submerged structure and rock piles. Inshore fishing charters out of Folly Beach have been targeting large schools of Redfish both in the creeks and on the flats. The Redfish have been biting live shrimp, mud minnows and smaller soft plastics. We have been having good luck fishing everything slowly in water 1 to 10 ft deep. Many big redfish are being caught and we have had much of the water to ourselves, especially during the week. Keep in mind the fish can be spooky and a quiet approach will help you get more bites. The best thing to do is give them some room and watch how they react to your presentation. We recently had to back off our fish a few times and let them rest for 5 or 10 minutes before making another presentation and hooking up. Soon our short cold spells will give way to longer warm spells then, before you know it Spring will be here! There are plenty of good dates open but with Spring Break and Summer vacation on everyone’s mind a lot of reservations are coming in. Get your Charleston and Folly Beach fishing charters booked now. You can reserve your date and make your reservation online here, or simply call or text to connect with us. Let’s go charter fishing!

Folly Beach Fishing report January 2022
Jan 4, 2022 Folly Beach
Our Fishing charters in Folly Beach have seen plenty of action lately as mild weather and calm conditions have settled into our area. Resident Redfish have begun to gather up in schools on and near the flats and can be seen cruising and sunning themselves at low tide. Black Drum and Sheepshead have moved into the creeks and structure on main river points and reefs. We have been catching Redfish using soft plastic baits by Z-Man and a variety of cut or live bait including shrimp and mud minnows. Light tackle and accurate casts help present our baits more naturally to these wary fish. Black Drum and Sheepshead are foraging on cut and live shrimp which is still plentiful if you know where to net it. We have been using Carolina rigs to get these baits to where the fish are and we have been most successful at the lower end of the tide. The Speckled Trout bite has been good wherever you can find a combination of structure and current. These fish have been taking both plastics and live shrimp very well and when you locate them they seem to be appearing in solid numbers. This time of year the Speckled Trout are often far off the bank so start fan casting 100 feet off the bank and work your way in until you get your first bite. Deep Sea fishing charters at the nearshore reefs have been finding Black Sea Bass, Sheepshead, Black Drum and some big Bull Reds! These bruisers have been cruising the surface chasing live baits. We have been able to catch them on top water plugs, metal jigs and soft plastics. Most of these fish are well over 30 inches long and have plenty of room to run when hooked so when you get connected be ready for a long fight! I expect January to provide lots of action this year so get to my online calendar and get your spot saved. I look forward to seeing you on deck soon! Book online now!
