Captain John is a wonderful host who loves fishing and believes in protecting the wildlife in this area. He has been doing this for decades, and his passion and expertise really shines through. We went sturgeon fishing with two children, and under captain John’s guidance, we caught four sturgeon, and even got to bring one home! His boat was beautiful and spacious for the four of us, and his gear was clearly top-notch, including his special formula bait. We enjoyed a wonderful half day and saw lots of action in those five hours. At the end, he even gutted and filleted our catch for us to bring home. The three sturgeons we had to throw back were too large to bring home. It was a thrill to catch them, and felt really good to release them back to the wild. Great lessons for all of us, especially the little ones, on how to properly take care of this beautiful environment.  Would definitely recommend Captain John, and hope to one day fish with him again.

I recently went on a private sturgeon fishing trip with my friends for a bachelor’s weekend, and it was an absolute blast! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience truly unforgettable.

We all purchased our fishing licenses and gear, and with the help of the guides, we were reeling in sturgeon in no time. The excitement of catching these magnificent fish was unparalleled, and the guides made sure we had a great time.

This was my first time going out with Addictive Sport Fishing. I have to say, for a 30’ boat in some rough conditions, John knew exactly where to take us to make a difficult day on the Delta a totally enjoyable day, even though we didn’t land any keeper sturgeons (which is what we were targeting). But what the hell? Some days are like that. John definitely knows his stuff and the Delta. Rods, reels, tackle and bait were all taken care of meticulously by John, even though his deck-hand called in sick. Luckily his buddy Mike from elementary school was able to fill in, and the stories were epic! I felt like I was with family. They were determined to put us on sturgeon, and they worked their asses off to do it.  Unfortunately, even tough a few shorts were landed, the bite was not on that day, but that is how fishing goes! At the end of the day, after a sun-rise to sun-set day of fishing, I was fully stoked to have been a part of this adventure. Thank you John, Mike, Heather, Kelly and Ben for a memorable trip.

John and Mat’s experience and professionalism was evident before we even left the dock!!! We drove 4 hours for the trip and it was worth every second!! John checked in with us prior to the departure date, gave easy directions, and was ready to rock. He put us on fish right away and when the weather didn’t cooperate, we moved and got on again. Both Mat and John were attentive to my children (7&9) and we all had a blast.

We had a great day fishing in the ocean for rock fish and long cod. We got on fish fast and caught more than we could have ever imagined. Non stop action all day long. The size of the fish were absolutely incredible. John and Austin were great company. We had a lot of laughs and hope to join them again someday on the water.
