The mullet are everywhere and the fish are following. The tarpon are easy to spot but hard to hook. Jacks are plentiful and redfish are chewing. This past week has been great. Looks like this should continue but who know for how long.

I believe the fresh live fingee mullet make the difference on landing some good eating fish. Water temp wasnt as cold as the other day when the tide came in. We had several undersized fish as well.

I got an awesome opportunity to spend some time with Outdoor Writer Ken Perrotte and his granddaughter McKayla. He was testing out some new lures by Snapper Slapper and thw results were impressive. Upper slot reds, over slot reds, nice flounder as well as several other rod benders was the result of the trip. The moon had the water a little higher than normal which helped us in targeting those reds. I also noticed the water temp has been dropping this week and the bite slowed down on Tue. And Wed. But still managing to put several fish in the boat.

Flounder are getting bigger as summer moves along. Try a croaker. They worked really well today.

Flounder continue to be a regular catch. Today was somewhate unique. The King fish are pretty plentiful on the beach and local wrecks. This one ate a live shrimp on 20 lb floro while fishing for flounder. Im surprised he didnt bite right through it but thia youngan had some fun smoking that little spinning reel.
