The Offshore414 fished hard Aug 4th 5th and 6th and had some ups and downs. The last few weeks we have had some strong east winds and big waves. The team again finished in the money last week in our tournament. The evening trip on the 4th was not good only catching a few fish followed up with big waves on the morning trip of the 5th with 6 foot rollers. We never got a bite. We moved three time and covers 30 miles of water and got skunked . That has never happened in 13 years. After that trip on the 5th the crew was thinking we forgot how to fish or the other charter captains were mad at us for catching so many fish this year that they sprayed our lures with fish repellent. The afternoon trip on the 5th we were scared to go out but the fish dance brought some hope and we caught some nice fish and missed a big one. Thank god that day was over. The morning of the 6th brought great calm weather with cloud cover that is ideal for fishing. The crew was Captain Nick and Mark and one adult and three youths. El, Silas and Bennett the youngest being 7 years olds. The days started off good catching a few trout and rainbows. We moved spots looking for colder water and put out our spread again. After 5 min we had a "fish On " that took all the boys help. They each took turns realIng and holding the rod. While we were fighting this fish we had another and another fish on. Three fish on at one time and one 20lb king salmon trying to knock off the big one. After 1hr and tired fisherman we saw "The King". This fish came in last and tipped the scales at a whopping 27.4 pounds . Yes we do know how to fish. The Offshore414 is back. Book today for your fish of a lifetime.

Milwaukee, Mixed Bag Continues! By Milwaukee Wisconsin fishing charter Capt. Jim Hirt Lake Michigan Salmon Fishing Report 7/24/2017! Join us in Milwaukee! To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to **hidden content** By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast! How Mixed bag all week. Hot and cold action this past week has lead to inconsistent catches. We still had lots of fun. Chinooks and Coho numbers were down the last two days with Lake Trout picking up the slack. We have good days and difficult days. Chinooks went for Magnum Reaper Peacock spoons in blue/silver. White or green Howie’s flies also working well run behind a white flasher. The big Chinooks are a guess however we had some excellent days fishing them in the warm water with spoons or flies. Downriggers on the bottom with size 0 dodgers and Spin n Glows are taking the Lakers. Reapers and Vulcans made by **hidden content** have been working for us. The small silver Vulcan in green or blue has also been good on the lead cores for exciting Rainbows. I hope this helps. Slide Diver are producing with #3 silver J plugs set at 2 with small ring. Run them 70 feet of line out 70 behind the diver . Lake Trout action was some what improved all week on magnum spoons on the bottom. Brown Trout action was just ok on 2 color lead core with small spoons. One here and there. Rainbow Trout were hitting Vulcan Dolphin Green and Silver spoons in the top 40 feet. Speed For all fish speed has been very critical with the warmer 68 degree water. The temp break to 53 is down 100 feet. I use the Depth Raider to measure speed and temp at the ball. The boat speed of 2.0 to 2.2 has been best. The faster speed triggered the Chinook action. Where! I fished anywhere from 70 to out over 150 feet. Follow the temperatures and fish the zone. Near shore action on McKinley pier has been very slow with only a few Browns being caught. Head north in Whitefish Bay and set lines in 80 feet. Troll north east have a great fishing season. Let's go fishing! Note We are offering an extra hour for $35 when added to a five hour fishing charter. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters. The Offhore414 is in a week long fishing tournament called (salmon a rama) worth $25000 for the biggest fish. Milwaukee Offshore Fishing invited our clients to help us fish this year and this is how it all began. The first day we smacked 2 very large king salmon 5 minutes into the trip at 4:30 with only 2 poles in the water. The King Salmon was hooked and put up the fight of a lifetime that lasted an hr. Captain Nick with a swift one handed net job got the big fish in the boat. We ended up with over 100lbs of fish in the morning. The Offshre414 regrouped and ate some fresh salmon off the grill and waited until the night bite. We ran 10 miles to our honey hole and we caught 15 King salmon that even I was impressed with. The 20lb Salmon almost spooled us but because we have big reels and braid backing we were prepared. With a storm rolling in we decided to start pulling linne than wham wham wham the line screamed out and we knew we had a monster on that maybe would win us $25000. After 5 minutes on constant line peeling out we pulled all the rods out of the water and tuned the boat to follow this fish. After 20 minutes of driving around this monster fish it spit the hook. At the end of the first day only weighing in the allotted fish per day Milwaukee Offshore fishing Charters is in third place and climbing. Come fish with us and see how we keep doing this over and over. Book today and catch your own big fish and help the Offshore414 stay on top of the leaderboard.

Be ready for a great experience, but remember it’s called fishing for a reason. We caught a lot of fish primarily rainbow trout and then lake trout too. We did not get salmon (which I would have loved to catch). But that’s why they call it fishing.

dress warm - it can get cool on the lake - windy - won't be any sunbathing this trip!

I would recommend trying to go earlier if you can due to the inconsistent weather and wind.
