Fishing at the end of August is some what slow you donโt catch quantity but more quality fish as in the size of the fish do your research and find a great captain who nowโs were to find the fish I recommend The Line Dancer with captain Don and Bob

Keep in mind thereโs more to enjoy than catching fish. Iโve been on many charters between shoreline gulf in Florida, Lake Erie, and Lake Michigan. Weโve always caught fish. Sometimes 1 per hour and sometimes you donโt stop reeling them in. Captainโs bring the strategy but the fish still have to act. On slow trips, we still enjoy the boat ride, the scenery, and time with family and friends. We love every adventure.

Late August, after most kids go back to school, the mass tourism dies down and the place isnโt crowded. There are tons of King salmon in the bay, but they can be hit or miss on the bite as they get wise to fishing pressure and/or shift to spawn mode (the only reason the rating isnโt 5 stars)

Expect to catch fish but also expect lulls in between. In August the fish are still moving in close to shore one minute and heading for deeper water the next. In the morning the fish were in close to shore. When the sun came up they headed for deep water. You can also expect to catch a variety of fish. Thereโs coho, chinook and Lake Trout.
