Fresh Lake Lewisville Fishing Reports

I had a four hour trip this morning, and I needed a change of scenery, so I moved about 50 feet to the southwest. My guests were having a little difficulty to start out the trip with getting the feel of the bite and hook set. After about 15 minutes, they started to get the hang of it. We ended up with 21 fish in the cooler within the first hour, and that was enough for them. We finished out the trip catching and releasing. The Guide's Choice Punch Bait kept them biting, and Bobo's Thumper held them under the boat for the whole trip. We stayed in the same location and didn't move. I have a day off tomorrow and then back at it again on Thursday and Friday.

Today was my first day back on the lake after a week of vacation. I had a group of six and these guys and girls had me busier than a cat burying a turd on a frozen pond. By the time we got the second line in the water, we had fish coming over the rails. It took me about an hour to finally get a rod in everyone's hand. Tomorrow is JoJo's 4th birthday and by the end of the trip, he was my lead deckhand. He really enjoyed putting that Guide's Choice Punch Bait on the hook. We ended up keeping 26 eater size fish and probably threw back twice as many, if not more.

My morning trip was a catch and release trip, and my guests kept me busy for the first hour of the trip. If I wasn't putting some more Guide's Choice Punch Bait on the hook, I was unhooking and releasing a fish. After that, the kids got hot, so I took them to my favorite swimming spot to cool off. We went back to fishing for the last hour of the 3 hour trip, and the fish were right where we left them. I also had a 2 hour afternoon trip, and we went right back to the same spot. The fish were still there, and my guests only wanted to keep a few, so we were catching and releasing the majority of the trip.

On Sunday, I had a 2 hour Intro to Fishing trip, and we were targeting larger Blue Cats. We didn't run into any monsters but did find some nice eater size fish.

Last night, I had a 2 Hour Intro to Fishing trip. I knew it was going to be a good evening when I was demonstrating the technique and had a bite as soon as I dropped down. They caught on quick and we ended up with a total of 47 fish in the cooler, a broken reel, and a slimy deck at the end of the trip. The action was steady for the duration of the trip, and we threw a bunch of small fish back as well as had a large number of missed bites.

Lake Lewisvile is still fishing great! Keeper Hybrids are harder to find. Seems like most of the bigs ones have big picked through. Keeper white bass are easy to find all over the lake though! We found multiple schools so large that they filled up the entire screen!
