Week of 22 Oct to 28 Oct 2017
The fishing has been good this past week here in Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island area. We have had lots of speckled trout being caught. There were a few trips with catches of 40 to 60 trout being caught. Several good slot size trout were brought back to the dock. Live shrimp and mud minnows under a floating cork, drifting with the tide has been the ticket. The redfish bite has been getting better with the cooler water temps. Bull reds are biting at the jetties when the winds have been lite. The backwater fishing has been pretty good with several heavy slot redfish being caught. This week saw one that was 26 inches weighing 7.5 pounds. The flounder bite has slowed a little but when you are hooked up it has been a really good one. We had a couple get off right at the boat. Our biggest flounder brought in was 26 inches weighing 7.1 pounds.
