Big Red and his friend the dog snapper

Trip Info

Five thirty came early for these anglers.  The seas were flat and we motored out quickly to the snapper hole.  They saw the fishing report and were wishing for a “Volkswagen” and ended up getting their wish.  Robert hooked into the big one and was able to get him into the boat.  The fish was barely hooked but lasted long enough to get him in the boat.  He spit the hook just when he got on the deck.  I heard lots of grunting and groaning as he pulled in that big “sow”.  Scott caught the dog snapper and Bill caught another red snapper.  After a comparison Robert’s snapper weighed the most.  He wins today!  He said it was the biggest fish he’s ever caught!
