Everglades Fishing Report

Trip Info

Summary

It has a been a great couple of weeks of fishing down in the Everglades.  The winds have been calm and most importantly we have been getting our afternoon rains.  The freshwater from the rain turns on the fishing in the Everglades.  This last week we have experienced some of the best tailing redfish action I have seen in a while.  Tails were waving from almost every direction!  Mix that with calm winds and it can be an epic day of fishing.  There are loads of baby tarpon both on the flats and in the backcountry.  If you can find them, they will almost always eat a fly of artificial.

When you can break away from the redfish flats, the fishing along the coast has been steady.  That area will turn on in about a month or so with our push of bait down the west coast.  The big tarpon are slowing starting to show up and will be around until our fronts start to blow through.

I have some days open this month and plenty of days in September. I am starting to book up days in the fall, so give me a call or respond to this email to get out on the water.  This is a great time to fish the Everglades!

Tight Lines,
Capt. Jason Sullivan
