Trip Info

Finding fish this time of year in Tampa Bay is never a problem. The Snook, Trout, Redfish, Snapper and Spanish Macs are hitting just about anything you throw at them. Grouper are stacking up in the bay and are becoming much easier to locate and catch. Once you have obtained the preferred bait.(White Bait) head to your spots and start fishing. It won’t take long. We ended up with around 22 Snook 28” and smaller, 8 Redfish 27” and smaller and several keeper size Macs.We did well on the snapper and trout but only a couple were big enough to keep. This winter shout be a great trout fishing experience with the larger fish showing up soon. Our tackle used was #30 braid and 20lb leader with a #2 circle hook on 7.5’ Ohero rods and Penn reels. Some fish were caught with a cork on the line and some free lined.
