Another great day on the water

The Catch

Marshall and Rob from St. Augustine came down to fish with me. The weather continues to be very hot for this time of year, the water clarity is still very poor, and the water level are elevated above normal. Not to mention it has been very windy and the holiday traffic on the water was beyond measureable. Countless boats were running around and coming way too close. Despite these factors working against us I managed to find a few nice spots with not a lot of traffic. I chose to simply stay put and let the other boat push the fish to us and it sure did work out nicely. Our first spot we landed 5 redfish, all within the upper slot range. As the winds picked up we decided to move to some other areas but they all had numerous boat in them. So I decided to hit up this one flat that is almost always overlooked. Good thing I did. As we were getting into position an uneducated boater ran right across the flat, across our bow and ended up running aground. It took some time for those fish to settle back down and start eating again. We landed 4 more redfish that next hour and ended the day with 9 total. Back on the grind the next two days. Book your trip today and lets make a memory that will last a lifetime.
