The Catch
Barracuda (Great)

We are three days into the new year and fishing here in the Florida Keys is nothing short of spectacular.  This time of the year we do a good bit of family fun fishing in other words people want to catch fish and lots of them so we often head out to the edge of the Gulf of Mexico in 6 to 8 feet of water in some heavily.  This draws a great variety of fish into slick behind the boat mainly Spanish mackerel Seatrout and mangrove snapper are but we do put a large bait out behind the boat on 20 pound tackle and it’s anybody’s guess what kind of shark we can catch.  As of lately the sharks tend to be Blacktip sharks spinner sharks and we have been catching tiger sharks over 10 feet long all in shallow water 6 to 8 feet of water!  On today’s morning trip or clients caught barracudas which we used for shark bait nice keeper size snappers and we finished off the day with a healthy 5 pound bonefish for release all from our 24 foot bay boat   Fishing right now is fantastic make plans today for a for six or eight hour charter with Bamboo Charters.
