Cold Weather Fishing

Trip Info

We fished the coldest days of the year this week with pretty good results.  When the weather gets cold in Miami the fishing can be great!  I fished with Darcy and his wife Wendy on Thursday.  They are from Calgary so the brisk 50 degree temperatures we were greeted to Thursday morning didn’t even phase them.  We caught 2 sailfish, a few bonito, a red grouper that was released, a mutton snapper, and 2 kingfish.  Earlier in the week I had another family from Canada in very brisk conditions and we were able to put 4 kingfish, some spanish mackerel, bonito, and a few sharks on the lines in our half day.  Don’t let the cold scare you away from fishing!  Catching bait is easier and the fishing is usually top notch in cold conditions on Miami Beach.  Dress warm and catch some fish!
