The Catch
Speckled Trout

Winter time weather has finally made it to Tampa Bay, meaning we can still continue to wear shorts and sandals. Temperatures have been averaging in the 60’s for the past few weeks and that has put the fish in their winter time patterns. Speckled Trout have been the most consistent in my region, fishing creeks and channel edges with a moving tide has produced slot fish with some over slot mixed in. Using artificial baits like DOA chad tails with a 1/8 oz jig head have been the key to success, free lined shrimp has also been productive.
