OFFSHORE FISHING REPORT - Durban - 13th February 2015
With a stiff NE wind and a strong N-S current making for choppy seas we made our way out of port just as the sun was popping it’s head over the horizon. Within minutes of dropping our lines we had 2 small Bonnies on deck. After that things were quiet until we hit the 100m depth line when we had a Sailfish jump onto on of our lines and after 2 jumps before we could even get the rod out the gunnel it was gone. On our way back going over the same spot we had the exact same thing happen on the same rod and lure, I am sure that it was the same Sailfish. We also managed to land 2 nice Yellowfin and a Wahoo. We lost a 2nd Wahoo at the boat just before lines up when it bit through the leader (No Steel).
