The Catch

I’ve been so busy this past week and I just haven’t had a minute to sit down and write a report, so here it goes. Red fishing is the best bet right now. The Sea Trout are hiding still but I will say that I’ve seen a few here and there plus we have had a couple in the boat, but over all it’s not in full swing yet. The Black Drum are starting to turn on and the catch numbers are also going up and should continue as the month progresses. But Again by and large the Redfish are king.Yesterday I had a couple from New Jersey on the boat and we just simply had a blast. We started out on the first spot a little slow… now it could have been to early still or the fact that they weren’t interested. but I continued to work the flat until we made contact with the first fish. Tina was so happy to get her first fish in Florida, and little did she know… that SHE would be the only one catching today! So after only getting 2 fish in this spot I elected to move on. I’m glad that I did because the next spot most defiantly was a better spot. Once we arrived and got set up, it was only minutes after arriving when the rod doubled over and FISH ON! Again Tina was hooked up, then again and again and again… She flat out put on a clinic.Today I was able to get Flavio from Germany out onto the flats. This was his first time flats fishing and seemed to really enjoy it. I’m happy to report that he landed his first redfish and I’m proud to be the guide that assisted him. If your heading to orlando and looking for your first redfish… Capt. Tom Carver
