On Jan 21st, the night before Kevin’s charter I had to call him to notify him of the inclement weather approaching.  I spoke with Kevin and advised him that the cold front was predicted to turn weather for the worse in the early morning.  After some serious weather research, I found that the front was supposed to arrive around 10am.  I notified Kevin and he decided to push the limits for the Hot Redfish bite and fish as long as the weather would hold out.  On Jan 22nd at 0630 we departed from the ramp and made a quick run north of Wabasso where he began to work a shallow flat.  The 2nd cast, using a DOA Deadly Combo with 4” Shad Tail (407), yielded a 23.5” Redfish to start the day.  What a way to start the day!  From there, the bite never slowed.  Kevin caught three more Redfish, two Black Drum and a big gator Trout along with several missed fish which rounded out the 2.5 hours trip before the front progressed forcing us to leave the fish chewing. All in all, another great day on the Indian River Lagoon.
