Still on the Mahi!
Fishing an afternoon half day deep sea charter and shortly after putting the lines in we spotted the ever welcomed Frigate birds frantically pacing the waters surface. As we got closer we could see the flying fish scurrying out of the water to escape death from below only to be stalked in the air by bombarding Frigate birds. This is an awesome site to behold but we knew our prey lye just below the surface and they were hungry. Some close calls and finally a few passes in we were able to get in front of the school, we missed 2 fish that jumped as they hit but we connected on a nice mahi on the right short rigger, a 28 pounder that put up an aerial battle that made for some very happy guests. This school was easily spooked and the increasing boat activity in the area forced the fish down and the bite was over. We headed to the wall to look for some Wahoo and tuna appetizer. As luck would have it we landed a nice hoo and some tuna to complete our afternoon.
