The Catch
Bass (Striped)

We have been following the migration patterns of the striped bass over the winter months. There have been sizable schools of fish up to 50 inches staging 14 miles off-shore of Virginia Beach in preparation of running up the bay to spawn. These are nice fish
I see a trend that points toward an early spawning run up the Chesapeake Bay. I anticipate a run of large 30-40 inch class fish through our area in Mid-March. Although the season is not open to keep Striped Bass at this time, we have a great catch and release fishery to enjoy.
Spring is coming quickly so now is the time to book your fishing trip!
