We had 4 guys from Texas out fishing on Saturday. We fished a half day and caught 3 dolphin, 3 red grouper that were released, 1 mutton snapper, 1 bonito, and 1 big shark that gave us a very tough fight and he eventually won the battle. The seas were quite rough but the guys were able to battle through the waves and catch some fish! Unfortunately I don’t foresee the next fishable day until Sunday March 13th. Hopefully things will change and we can get out this week, but I am not counting on it. If fishing 8 to10 ft waves on a 28 ft center console sounds fun to you, give me a call this week!! Just kidding!! The fishing seems to be picking up, and there is definitely a good push of nice size dolphin cruising through. We have caught all of our dolphin recently on structure that is floating or under big flocks of frigate birds. I don’t think its quite time to dedicate the day to trolling for dolphin yet, but its important when drifting live bait to keep an eye out to the east for birds and structure. Hope everyone has a great week!
