Trip Summary

For a change, the weather man was wrong for the better. Winds were light and the seas were calm. We fished ledges and live bottoms from 125 feet out to 200 feet. Plenty of strawberry and rock hind grouper, redporgy, and vermillion snappe, with one nice trigger fish. A large pod of dolphin paid us a visit for about 10 minutes. Overall an enjoyable trip for all.

After a late start, we headed 60 miles out to try our luck on the Mahi. The fishing was slow but we managed three fish from 9 to 14 lbs, one cuda, then hit some deep bottom for some nice porgy, snapper, and jacks. Come join Olde Man Charters for your next fishing adventure!

What a surprise! We went out for Mahi, 60 milles off the Carolina coast. High winds and rough seas had destroyed the weed lines so we were blind trolling open waters with small patches of broken weeds. First hit was a small gaffer within five minutes, then nothing for two hours until this beauty hit. Fourty five minutes later he was boat side. What a great fish!
