The Catch
Dolphin (Mahi Mahi)
Summary

March/April through the fall are some of our best Mahi months, with April to August usually producing some large fish. For our guest today from Texas, today would not disappoint. Within minutes of putting lines in we were on the gold, dorado, mahi gold that is. With double hook ups we boated several fish back to back, releasing some to fish to fight another day and keeping a few eaters for dinner. The highlight of all the nonstop rod bending action would be a gaffer, slammer dolphin/mahi on the 30w that put up an acrobatic battle on light tackle that made it an even more exciting fight to the finish. This fish, weighing in at well over 40 pounds gave our guest a trip to remember.
