April is always a great month for fishing and it has really started out hot this year. Tarpon and Snook are all over the area which has lead to some phenomenal fishing days thus far. After loading up the well with pilchards this Thursday, we set out to my favorite Snook areas and the action was immediate. We boated around 20 good size Snook before we aimed our sights on the elusive Tarpon.
Within an hour of fishing we had a 120 pounder tail walking on the surface of the water and screaming drag constantly. Eventually the fish threw the hook which is part of the game but we certainly enjoyed watching the 30 minute battle between Sean and his first Tarpon. Looking forward to more great fishing days like this in the near future!
