Awesome family day on the Gulf of Mexico!!
Today’s trip was with repeat clients from Michigan.
Last year we fished in-shore for Sheepshead and Spanish Mackerel.  This is a family of 5 ,we managed to have a great time last year and everyone caught fish ,but this year they wanted to see something different, wanted something that would put up a good fight and could still have a chance taking some fish home for dinner.
So with that said we planned a Nearshore fishing trip. The morning was a lil cool with a slight North wind blowing the seas were perfect for our fisherman aboard.  With a short boat ride to our first spot and everyone excited and not sure what to expect. I got everyone baited up and explained the how too’s and what too do. With 4 ppl fishing and mom taking pictures of the Dolphins that were patiently awaiting there free dinners,  It was off to the bottom!!  Eight hooks down and 6 fish up!! They were there and they are Hungry. Our first drop we had 4 different species of fish out of 6 .Everyone was excited and ready to drop again to see what was going to come up next. Mingos, White snappers, Red snappers, Trigger fish, Sand Bass ,Sharks!! The kids were amazing at the different varieties we were catching 2 at a time most drops.  All in all we caught 9 different species and probably 150-175 fish. Needless to say everyone had a great time , and learned alot about all the different fish we had caught that day. Bedore the day was up all the kids could positively identify everything that was coming aboard and new a little something about each fish.when the weather is right there isn’t any better fishing than there is in the Gulf of Mexico.  You never know what your going to catch or what’s going to be swim up too the boat to see us!!
