Trip Summary

Fished with Jeff and his Dad from Wyoming the day before Thanksgiving. We caught fish consistently even though a front had just blown through and we weren't fishing super hard. The fish we caught were tournament type fish , heaviest was 3.5 lb pig. Very nice to see that class of fish showing up in one of our usual spots. Yes we kept a few sand trout to add to the bag - haha . Weather is turning the corner into Winter pattern and fishing should get better as these fish start to group up.

Drifted all morning and caught and released a bunch of small trout with few keeper size. Very stoked Luke from Austin stuck first ever speckled trout- and on plastics - and it was respectable 18 inch. Winter pattern has these better fish in deep water.

We waded with plastics 12/12/20 and caught probably 25 trout. Too bad 21 were a half inch under the size limit. Thats how it goes though. Finally moved on to look for better fish and picked up a bonus redfish. Was not lights out, but lot's of action and 4 fish made a good bag of filets.

Fished with my boy Piers Thanksgiving day. I need to say that this dude books strictly wade trips and we always throw lures. He will not drift fish so our #'s are sometimes a little less, but usually heavy stringers. It was blowing pretty good and rained a little and only caught small trout on first wade. Moved to a hole close to some marsh drains and stuck two BIG flat fish and a couple keeper trout. Flounder were ~ 20 and 22 inch. Winter pattern starting to turn things on!
