Trip Info

The Catch
Dolphin (Mahi Mahi)
Marlin (Blue)
Tuna (Blackfin)

We went offshore Saturday with a group of guys from Union, SC. There wasn’t a lot of bait or clean water around the ledge so we headed to the Gulf Stream about 70 miles out. We picked up a handful of Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna throughout the day and around 1:45 got a huge knockdown on one of my Penn International 30s. It turned out to be a Blue Marlin. It took the guys about 2 hours of hardcore fighting before bringing the fish along side of the boat and pulling my Black and purple Iland lure out of his jaw for a smooth release! Everyone did a fine job on the catch and release of the massive fish!
