Summary

When the North Wind blows it’s sure to be cooler in May.  Headed out from Big Lagoon at daylight only to see the winds start blowing 20plus knots out of the North once we got on the Gulf giving us solid 3 foot seas.  We stopped along the way and caught some live bait then headed to fish some wrecks.  The six of us caught fish early until some divers started fishing under our boat.  As the seas calmed to about 2 feet we motored around to some alternate locations.  All in all was a good day, but sure to get better.  This was a trip of firsts—-first Gulf trip for one of our passengers and his first Red Snapper.  Needless to say, the whole group went home with some nice filets.
