Trip Summary

We had a great trip yesterday with Lynda Rotelle and Frank from Jersey. We tried to hook up back in November, but stayed in touch and were finally able to gave it a go. Fortunately, the trip started off with zero pressure by Lynda only saying “I want a rooster” ... so yea, no pressure. The rooster bite has been inconsistent at best, but starting to show signs of it turning. Well today we managed to hit everything at just the right time and caught the one hour bite just as it was dialed up. We arrived at the rocks around 9:00 and had our first fish boat side in a matter of minutes. I’m pretty sure Lynda would have been happy at that, but continued on releasing four roosters and pulling the hook on two more. Just as quickly as the bite began, it ended. There was a mother and calf humpback just offshore of us we watched them for a little while. I asked them if they wanted to try a little bottom fishing to get some dinner and they were all for it. We tried a couple spots with slow bites presumably due to the lack of any current, but managed a fat red grouper, a snowy grouper, and a few long tailed sea bass. We called the day short and headed back to the marina early with everyone happy and new fish checked from Lyndas bucket list. #quepossportfishing#manuelantonio#fishingcostarica#marinapezvela#travelcostarica#fishing#billfish
