Trip Summary

Frank and his son Cam have their boat in a neighboring marina. They wanted to see how the multi-rod trolling program worked. Frank and Cam were quick studies and were running the Offshore Tackle in-line planner boards with confidence. We followed a hot bite near the harbor along with most of the charter fleet. We set the 1st rod and began to set the next when the 1st rod attracted their 1st Walleye. We worked the area but were only to catch Walleye below 15". So we picked up and made a 12 mile run to the same location as the day before. We quickly caught 8 Walleye and Cam said he had enough, so we pick-up the gear and were back at the dock a little after 10:00 AM.

Florida to Lake Erie. Jon wanted to get his son's Trent and Logan on their first Walleye. We set up a drift and cast to fill their cooler. We headed East into the sun then made a hard left out of West Harbor. We set up East of the can line and made long drifts towards the South Passage. We had a fair amount of White Perch. If you could get your crawler past the perch you had a good shot of a catching Walleye. 3/4 oz harnesses with gold blade. Brendon in NW Ohio from Houston brought along an old neighbor now in Ohio for little Lake Erie Walleye action. We headed West of the islands and set out 2 Dipsey and a Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50 on each side. We ran mostly Rapala J7s on the downrods. Leads were 22 to 35 on the downrods. On the Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards we ran Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers 60 back 2 oz. And BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons on TruTrip 40s. Speed was 2.8 mph at times.
