Solid trout making a comeback

Trip Summary

We were challenged with lots of wet weather and some lightening producing thunderstorms for a week or so the first part of July. So weather keeps us off the water sometimes , just part of it. Things finally cleared up and we got back on schedule. The catch is that all that weather we worked around produced a lot of fresh water and we all know where all that fresh water ends up. Fishable conditions got us stoked to fish, but the after affects of the rain lowered salinity levels and our numbers of keeper fish per trip. The good news is some strong tidal movement that flushes the bay and replenishes with good salty water and a break from precipitation has the salinity levels and water clarity improving ! Trout have started showing back up where they should be for this time of year, close to deeper guts on ledges and over shell on incoming tide. Things are recovering nicely and man is it good to see these healthy fish back on pattern. The water is around 85 degrees so mornings are the best shot at them as usual for summer. Back half of July is looking good and can't wait for those usual August red fish ! Let's go!
