Daytime Swordfishing

The Catch

The daytime swordfishing action has been steady. It appears that the dry spell we saw over the last 2 weeks is over and the swords are back and they are chewing. On our swordfish charters we leave out of Pompano Beach and head southeast for about 20 miles. We fish anywhere from 1400-1800 feet of water. We drift with the gulf stream that constantly runs north. Daytime swordfishing charters typically start around 6:00 -7:00am and end around 5:00 – 6:00pm. There is nothing quite like dropping a bait down 1700 feet in the middle of the ocean and pulling up a nice swordfish. If you haven’t experienced it you need to put it on your bucket list.

Pictured here is Jacob Fleishman with a nice sword we caught.
