Tarpon , Trout, Redfish at Night

June 11, 2016 by Joseph Raines

Trip Info

We started out on the outgoing tide using live threadfin herring for tarpon bait. We had a short period of time to try for tarpon and managed two bites and one hookup. The tarpon were rolling and free jumping all around the boat. After the sun went down we switched gears and went for trout and redfish on docklights. Live shrimp was the bait of choice.

Weather played a big factor in this trip as we didn’t get to fish as much as we would have wanted. Despite this, the fish were hungry and feeding good when we were able to fish. Dodging the rain is the name of the game in Summertime Florida.
