Triggerfish (Gray)

I was excited to meet Mr. Lee and his crew for this mornings charter. They drove through the night from Atlanta and arrived at the marina by 2:30AM, so we were able to meet them and leave much earlier than planned, which turned out great in the long run.

The bait boat had some great cigar minnows, so we loaded up and headed south. We caught our red snapper limit in under and hour. We also got a nice king mackerel. I decided to make a run east, in hopes for some different species. Ended up with some mingo snapper, white snapper, bonito, spanish mackerel and caught a nice mess of triggers as well. Ellie ended up catching the biggest fish which was a 6 foot nurse shark. We also got a treat when we got to see a 7 foot hammerhead shark.

Mr Lee really hoped we’d be able to share our love of fishing and nature with his friends and I think that’s exactly what we were able to do! This crew was so much fun to fish with. The weather was great and I could not have been happier to put some first timers on the fish!

Also want to say “Thank You” to Dylan Miller, who drove up from Tallahassee last minute, to be an amazing deckhand for this awesome crew! Appreciate all the help today man!

Tight Lines,
Capt Jesse
