King Mackerel (Kingfish)
Summary

My anglers wanted to do a little king fishing and bring home some meat for the table. As we left the dock the sunrise was beautiful coming over the Brooks Bridge.  We stopped at the bait boat and grabbed a few minnows for our journey.  We trolled outside the pass by the sea buoy and hooked up on a nice king.  There were two break offs as well as a hit while one of the lines were being set out causing the reel to back lash (the Captain was the one holding the reel).  While trolling we hooked up on a puffer fish.  That was a first for me!!  He was cute but would not make a good filet for the plate.  After arriving at the dock we cleaned two nice Kings and there was plenty of meat for their table.  Recipes were given and theyeven sent me a picture of their dinner. The recipe is called “HeavenlyFish” which is a crusted/baked fish.  Yes, the day was hot and still but it was also exciting!
