The Catch
Snapper (Red)

The Trimuar crew
We had a rainy morning until about 5:45, when most of the weather seemed to push north. The Trimuar crew was ready to see what the gulf had to offer so we set off around 6:20.
Bait was pretty scarce, we needed 20-30 more cigar minnows, but we decided to push on out for some snapper. We hooked up quick on some really quality fish. Lost some nice kings, that wanted nothing to do with our steel leaders. We tried to mix in some frozen cigar minnows, but it just wasn’t happening. Picked up a few more on lives and headed east a couple miles to dodge a rain cloud. Caught 3-4 more right off the bat then flipper showed up and the bite turned off.
Most of the crew was feeling pretty puny so we called it quits a little early. It’s tough to stay out in those conditions, the crew put in a tremendous effort and I applaud them for sticking it out as long as they did. I hope they give it another shot one day.
Tight Lines,
Captain Jesse
