The Catch
Barracuda (Great)
Grouper (Goliath)
King Mackerel (Kingfish)

Cameron brought his Dad out for some fun on the water.  And of course to knock some first’s off his bucket list.  We started with Goliath Grouper, these fish range from 50-500lbs.  Even using 600lb Bullbuster Monofilament you get the occasional giant that you just cant stop.  After a few bites they finally hooked into a few that stuck.  Getting their catch boatside for a photo before release.

Later in the day the guys got to hook into some barracuda.  Not a fish I recommend for eating but a great shark bait and a fun fight on light tackle.  Near the end of the trip Cameron hooked into a BIG king mackerel on mono leader.  Surprisingly it held up.  This fish ate a free-line white bait off the back of the boat.

The guys were casting a “cuda tube”  ( A lure made of colored rubber tubing, wire and treble hooks )  On Penn Battle 2500 reels.  They were successful in landing two with one blowing up the lure boat side.  A strong fighting fish with explosive runs and acrobatic jumps.
