Fishing Report from the Captain’s Log: 7/12/16
We were met with scattered thunderstorms this morning. We made the call to head west, but still had to dodge storms most of the day.
With red snapper closed and not a lot of interest in king mackerel, we decided to chum up some mangrove snapper. Within minutes we put our first in the boat. Then the triggerfish and red snapper showed up, and it was one after another. We picked up some more mangroves free lining off the back of the boat and even caught several nice mingos before the storms finally forced us to head back in. We also caught some amberjack, bonito and a barracuda. It wasn’t a grand slam, but we stayed busy catching fish and the boys really seemed to enjoy it.
