The Catch
King Mackerel (Kingfish)
Snapper (Mangrove)
Snapper (Red)
Spanish Mackerel
Triggerfish (Gray)

We met our awesome father and son crew today around 7 am. Weather was finally in our favor, so we headed east for some kings.

We found a LOT of bonito! It was one after another, which was entertaining but not what we were targeting. We did catch some kings but all were just barely too small. Also caught some nice spanish mackerel while trolling.
We switched mid way through to target some mangrove snapper. We got a nice chum slick going and they showed up, along with tons of red snapper and triggerfish. We caught many red snapper and triggers before we finally got to one nice mangrove. We were even catching triggers two at a time.

It was a busy day of fishing, just wasn’t much to show for it. It would have been a great day to have the grill on the boat . Young Giovanni, was a real treat to watch fish. It’s interesting to me how some people genuinely have the touch for fishing. This young man really knew what he was doing and as much as I love watching first timers, it was a pleasure having him on the boat today. Great Job today kiddo!

Tight Lines,
Captain Jesse
