Trip Summary

Wow it’s been 8 months! We started loosing power on our engine late last year. We ordered a new one but as things go these days there was a wait. The old Johnson 2 stroke was done and couldn’t be repaired. Well the ne Suzuki is on and ready. 300HP and a 4 stroke. More power and a lot quieter. We are back in business. Live lining for rockfish is just starting to kick off, Jigging is pretty good also. Let’s fish!

Well summer is flying by! Man it’s mid July already! Shawn scheduled a trip with us while he was camping in the area. What a great day everyone had. We caught spot and perch for bait. Then went live lining. They took home 5 keeper Rockfish and 1 blue fish. We definitely had steady action the whole trip. Well Rockfish season closes tomorrow July 16 till Aug. 1. But don’t worry there’s still plenty of fish around. We are bottom fishing for Spot and perch. With an occasional other species being caught also. We are trolling for bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. We are also light tackle casting and jigging for Bluefish and mackerel also while chasing breakers. We also are prowling the shallows for speckled trout. There are a some around when conditions are right. We leave from different locations depending on your technique you want to try. We offer half day and full day trips. Well June sure went by fast. We got our new Suzuki 300 outboard installed June1. I must say that motor is awesome. I love it! More power, faster top end, and faster cruise. Well there are still some rockfish in the mid Bay Area but they are hard to find some days. I had a couple spot bit in half last weekend. I suspect bluefish. Hopefully they show good this year. Rockfish season close July 16 and reopens August 1. We’ll be looking for bluefish and mackerel soon. We also are light tackle fishing for speckled trout. They are not here in great numbers but there are some around. Taking a little time off to relax for the holiday then back at mid week. Send me a message and we’ll set a trip for you. Man has the summer flown by. It’s now 1 of the best times to fish. Lots of different things are happening. Rockfish is kicking off pretty good. The live lining bite is slowing and the jig and trolling bite are picking up. Few Spanish mackerel still being caught but they will be gone for the year very soon. Seeing some small flounder and sea bass here and there. Still plenty of white perch around. We have openings so book your adventure before it’s too late.
