The Catch
King Mackerel (Kingfish)

The day started out with rough seas.  The weather report showed 2 ft but we had lots of wind at the start.  We trolled for a while to try to get some kings.  When we reached our destination we tried bottom fishing but the current was so strong and difficult to hold on a spot.  We moved back to trolling for a while longer with a hard tail and we had a strike but it missed the trailer hook.  Back to square one again…we re-baited and tried again.  We had a great strike and ended up with a nice king.  The seas ended up becoming flat as the trip was ending and made for a nice ride in.  My family enjoyed taking their catch to Dewey Destins and they dined on their catch of the day.
