"Miami Beach September Sport Fishing"

August 30, 2016 by Brothers Ron and Howard Albert

Trip Info

The Catch
Barracuda (Great)
Dolphin (Mahi Mahi)
King Mackerel (Kingfish)

Sport Fishing off Miami Beach offers year round fun and September is no exception. Mahi-Mahi are still in high demand, but catching them isn’t always an easy task. While trolling offshore keep scanning the horizon for birds. If you see a Frigate anxiously working the surface you’re chances are good there’s Mahi nearby. Don’t be fooled if you don’t see seaweed in the area, troll rigged ballyhoo, small lures, feathers or bonita strips close to where the Frigates are diving and look into the water to see the Mahi “lit up” flashing bright neon colors of purple, green and blue. Typically this activity will be in 400 to 1000’ foot depths.
