The Catch
Spotted Seatrout

Started off my morning at 7 am pushing off the dock in Fort Pierce   With a game plan to get an inshore slam(snook, redfish, and sea trout).  First stop of the day was a few smaller trout on DOA we wanted to up size to some larger fish, so we moved flats and started casting Topwater plugs soon after we had a few trout in the 5-7pound class.  Change tactics and started throwing jigs for redfish and only got a few smaller jacks.  So we decided to get some live bait and try fishing some mangroves for a snook.  Using a 7/0 circle hook and decent size finger mullet We managed to get two keeper snook at 29 and 30 inch with a hand full of smaller snook in the 19”-27” class. But we still need a redfish for the slam, so we started working the flats with some hand made jigs getting Jack after Jack and two flounder.  Finally, we hook a 27.5” red to finish off the slam   Just before the tide change with if you hours left in the charter my customer decided he wanted to try for Tarpon, so we made the run to the inlet   And started throwing live bait ..  We jumping seven Tarpon and only getting one to the boat.  We also managed to hook up on some spinner sharks But the entertainment did not last long with the to the Toothy critters on light line the hot bait was DOA cal in watermelon. Some 3-5” poppers. Handmade jigs and live finger mullet.  Everything finished on light tackle.

Tight lines and wish you luck on the water.
