So the first few weeks of October have been fun if you can get out on the water. Fished the DOA writers event at the beginning of the month with Great success - we landed a total of 12 species between the two days. We fished up by Vero the first day and ended up with an “inshore slam” - Snook, Seatrout, and Redfish - all on the new DOA shrimp 2.75” played with colors, but New penny seem to keep producing trout with the big fish of the day at about 5 pounds .. We also got a few jacks, lady fish, mangrove snapper and a black grouper, all on DOA.

Day two I fished STUART also only using DOA we jumped 3 tarpon using root beer colored terrorize jigs . Got a few jacks, a few cat fish, and started focusing on the Sailfish flats bonefish - saw a lot of fish but the afternoon storms made us go in early. With Hurricane Matthew approaching I had charters cancel, so I took my lady out night fishing October 4th. We got into the fish with landing a 27” and a 29” sea trout and also landed 12 or so snook in the 20-25"class.

Saturday after the storm we took a boat ride to see all the messed up boats and did some fishing at the same time - ended up getting a few sharks some jacks and snook on live bait. I have a weekend charter so stay tuned for the next fishing report for the last Half of the month.
