Absolutely great day. Cannot day enough about the trip. Highly recommend the crew!

I selected the Bucanero because they had some good reviews and said they used Penn and Shimano equipment.  They had 2 Penn 50 reals that where badly corroded.  Other reals where no names as where the rods.  No electronics beyond a handheld GPS.  Agent was late meeting us at the dock then had to go to the store…  Captain (Ollie) and mate were father daughter team.  She had 1 year experience to his 40+.  I had to explain to all 3 seperately, despite requesting this on the booking page, we did not want to fish for mahi, billfish only.  Sorry, not the easily amused tourists who are happy going 1 mile out of the marina and catching a few small mahi.  Went to get live bait near marina entrance and what a joke.  I’m used to ripoff prices in San Diego but $20 for literally 10 baits was unbelievable.  It took them over 30 minutes to get 5 lines in the water.  Next we droned around for hours without any hits.  Finally motored by a group of other boats catching fish amongst a school of porpoise.  Circled around them 2 times and nothing.  Finally found another school of porpoise this time with yellowfin tuna jumping around (not foaming).  Had this all to ourselves for over 30 minutes and they could not get a single hit.  Fast trolling on our wasy in, got one bull mahi that we let the crew keep.  And boy oh boy, we were back at the dock 5 hours on the nose!

We have been billfishing Cabo since 2015 and this was about the biggest waste of $800+ yet.  This is yet another lowest common denominator tourist money pit.  Steer clear of these guys.

We really enjoyed our trip. Tony did everything to make sure we were comfortable and worked very hard to get us fish. He and the captain were an amazing team and it paid off!! Would definitely use them again!!

We booked the Bucanero for a half day morning trip on Feb. 1, 2019 and went after Marlin. Roberto, Alfonso and Juan did a nice job and Roberto was especially friendly and attentive. Though we did not catch anything, we did see several marlin and had one hit the line and dance in the air. We also saw several whales. All in all, a good day!
