We booked a charter with Sealutions and Captain Shannon at pretty much the worst time of year but Captain Shannon found the fish. He was great with my 3 year old grandson on board, very friendly and professional. The next time weโre in California weโll be booking a trip with Sealutions for sure.
I originally booked Capt. Shannon for an inshore trip with the hope of catching yellowtail and whatever else was biting. He recommended upgrading to the Catalina trip instead because the inshore bite hadnโt been very strong.
The trip was great. It started off slow, we got to a spot that Capt. Shannon likes to fish as early as we could and caught a few small calico bass. We had trouble with the sea lions stealing our bait. After not having much luck Capt. Shannon kept us on the move and away from the sea lions for the rest of the day.
We caught one little yellowtail on our trip. Not in the size range we were hoping for, but thatโs fishing. The bonito were biting pretty consistently and they were very fun to catch, and also very good to eat.
I would recommend Capt. Shannon to anyone interested in booking a fishing trip to Catalina. We had some novice anglers that had never caught a fish before our trip, he was extremely patient and helpful with everyone on board and everyone caught fish.

Wow what an experience. Shannon really knows what he is doing out on the waters. Very knowledgeable. His boat is super clean and organized and he is amazing with children. His kids are lucky to have a father like him. Forever memories. Thank you Shannon
TRIP WAS AMAZING. 3/4 day is not enough time deffinetly should book for the offshore fishing trip! Captain is very knowledgeable on how to catch the fish and had the best tackle availible to us to help us fish! Deff will book again next year For Sure! Highly Recommend the Trip!
I booked the full day trip with my two boys who are 13 & 15. Capt Shannon was great, once we got to the fishing spot dropped anchor and started catching Yellowtail, Bonito and bass. He was a great with the boys we had an amazing time. Will definitely plan another outing with him.
